Our aim at Marmara Private Special Education and Rehabilitation Center is to support the active participation of individuals with special needs in society and to maximize their potential by meeting their educational, therapeutic, and rehabilitation needs.
With our team of expert teachers, therapists, psychologists, and physiotherapists, we offer a personalized and holistic support program for each individual.

Special Education

 

Every individual has a different learning pace, interests, and developmental areas. Therefore, the educational process at our institution is planned within the framework of an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Our special education services include:

  • Individuals with intellectual disabilities,

  • Children with autism spectrum disorder,

  • Individuals with Down syndrome,

  • Students with learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia),

  • Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
    This is supported by one-on-one or small group training sessions.

The educational process aims to develop self-care, language, social communication, academic skills, and daily living skills. Families are informed regularly and are actively involved in the education process.

Speech and Language Therapy

Our speech and language therapist assesses language, voice, and speech disorders in individuals experiencing communication difficulties and develops personalized therapy programs.
Our areas of expertise:

  • Delayed speech

  • Articulation (pronunciation) disorders

  • Stuttering

  • Aphasia (language disorder following brain damage)

  • Voice disorders

  • Communication difficulties related to autism and Down syndrome.

The therapy process is conducted through play-based, highly motivating activities appropriate to the individual's age. The goal is to make communication enjoyable and meaningful.

Occupational therapy

Occupational therapy is a field of therapy that supports individuals in achieving independence in daily life and interacting effectively with their environment.
The occupational therapy programs implemented at our institution include the following:

The hydrotherapy programs implemented at our institution are planned in collaboration with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, according to the individual's age and physical condition.
The aim is to take advantage of water resistance and buoyancy:

• To increase muscle strength,

• To improve balance and coordination,

• To reduce pain,

• Increasing flexibility,

• To reduce fear of movement and boost self-confidence.

Therapies are organized in a hygienic and safe environment, allowing children to enjoy themselves in the water. Water activities are conducted through play and provide both physical development and psychological relaxation.

  • Sensory integration therapy (sensory sensitivity, attention deficit, motor coordination)

  • fine and gross motor skill development

  • Hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills exercises.

  • Training in daily living activities (dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene)

  • Games and attention-enhancing activities

Our occupational therapy rooms are specially designed environments equipped with sensory integration equipment, allowing children to move around safely.

Psychological Counseling and Guidance

Psychological support is an integral part of the educational process. Our psychologists closely monitor children's emotional, social, and behavioral development.
Our services include:

  • Individual counseling

  • Play therapy

  • Family counseling

  • Behavioral management studies

  • Developmental assessment and testing applications

Our psychologists work collaboratively with both children and families to enhance the effectiveness of the process and create the most suitable support plan for each individual.

Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation

Our physical therapy services are designed to support the development of muscle strength, balance, coordination, and posture in individuals with limited mobility.

  • Postural disorders and walking problems

Our physiotherapists create customized exercise programs tailored to each individual's age and physical condition, and make the process enjoyable by incorporating play.
